Hrithik Roshan hints at Krrish 4 in new workout video as he goes into training mode: ‘Look what popped on my screen’

Actor Hrithik Roshan gave Bollywood one of its first superheroes in the form of Krrish in 2006. Paired with its prequel, Koi Mil Gaya, the industry got its first ‘universe’ with interconnected characters and storylines. Now, Hrithik is preparing for the fourth instalment of the franchise, one that has been on the back burner for over a decade. In a recent video, posted on his brand HRX’s social media account, the actor could be seen pumping the iron, presumably getting in shape to play a superhero once again.

The video starts with Hrithik posing shirtless in front of a mirror, as he quickly starts showcasing his workout regime. Larger sets with heavy weights can be seen throughout the video, as Hrithik makes his agony quite visible. He is joined by his girlfriend, Saba Azad, and both give each other a high-five after finishing a set. At the very end of the video, Hrithik is using a stationary bike when he calls in the camera to see what has just “popped on his screen”. The Roshan family has been dropping hints about Krrish 4 for many years now. But, in 2025, they shared that Hrithik would be directing the film. While talking to Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh said, “The script didn’t take a lot of time. The pressure was the budgeting. Now that we have an idea of the definite budget required for this film, we’ll be starting the film. The work is going on in full swing. We are going to start shooting by the middle of next year. This is because the pre-production is much more extensive for this film. Hence, we have to be well prepared before we go on floors. We plan to release it in 2027.”

Last year in March, YRF announced that Hrithik was going to make Krrish 4 in association with them. However, Hrithik’s love for the production house might have changed or even depleted as the year went on. YRF released War 2 on August 14, starring Hrithik, NTR Jr, and Kiara Advani, and the film did not generate the kind of revenue that was expected. It all started with the Rakesh Roshan directorial, Koi Mil Gaya, starring Hrithik and Preity Zinta. Hrithik plays a person with an intellectual disability, who befriends an alien named ‘Jadoo’. The alien grants him superhuman powers, which are later transferred to his son Krishna Mehra, who we see in the first Krrish. Using his powers, Krrish becomes a superhero and avenges his father.
